Director of Music

I was born in Seoul, Korea, as the youngest of six daughters, two of whom live in Korea, one in London, one in Houston, and one in Glendale.  All of them are college graduates and professional women.  The five older sisters are married and active Christians, along with their husbands and children.

When I was eight years old, I asked my mother that I may study piano. She was delighted because she secretly wished me to be a church musician.  As a child, I was always interested in science and thought to be an astronaut in order to know and see God's world.  When I was in high school, I found out that women were not permitted to fly in Korea.

I decided to study general science and earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry.

During those years I played piano and organ to accompany church choirs, and developed a deep love for Christian music.

I found that praising God is the most important thing in life. I went to a theological seminary where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in church music and organ performance.

I auditioned for the Royal College of Music in London, where my sister lives, and I was awarded a three year full scholarship.

During those years, I attended the famous academies in summer and visit many European countries to play the great organs of the world.  After completing studies in London, I returned to Pusan where I lectured in the Organ and Church Music Department of the university. I also worked full-time for two years at the Ministry Development Institute as a full time instructor in the Church Music Department and accompanist for choirs on mission tours to Japan and America

I had an audition for Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where I received a scholarship and the position of University Organist. After completing studies at NU, I made home in Glendale near my sister and continued my studies in organ, choral music, and church music at USC, where I received master's and doctoral degree with numerous scholarships.  Christmas 2007, you could also find me at the organ for "Glory of Christmas" at the Crystal Cathedral.

Please continue to pray for me and my music ministry for specific guidance from the Holy Spirit.

I am blessed to be a part of staff and privileged to work with you all.  Thanks be to God!"
